The Design Challenge

The challenge was to transform a small unused front room into a much-needed bedroom and update the exterior giving it personality and a fresh feel.

By relocating the front door and enclosing the porch we improved traffic flow, and added the space needed for the new bedroom.
The Details

We defined the new entrance by adding a custom gable roof and rain chains — which divert rainwater into the french drain.

The Details

The homeowner wanted a coastal feel, so we painted the home her favorite shade of blue and added wood shakes (common on the northwest coast), which also helped break up the front elevation.
